103.1: Firearms Policy

• Mandatory Possession: All employees must be armed with an authorized firearm at all times while on duty.

• Exemptions: Personnel assigned to LSIAPD Security, TSS, and LSPRD Security are strictly prohibited from possessing firearms.

  • SecuroServ Mall Security may carry firearms with permission from a active supervisor

• Customization: Suppressors are strictly prohibited on all agency firearms.

Authorized Sidearms (Handguns)

• Standard Attachments: Flashlight and slide-mounted red dot sights are authorized.

• Capacity Restrictions:

  • 12-Round Limit: Pistol, Pistol Mk2, Langley, Combat Pistol.

  • 15-Round Limit: VF Pistol, Gardone, Duty Pistol, D&P9.

  • 17-Round Limit: Service Pistol, Duty Pistol Mk2, 950 Pistol.

  • Specialty: Heavy Pistol (18rd), Heavy Pistol LE (8rd), Pistol .50 (9rd).

  • Revolvers (Chuff and Lock & Load Only): Double-Action Revolver (6rd). Authorized personnel may bypass standard belt policy for appropriate leather holsters.

• Backup Firearms: SNS Pistol or SNS Pistol Mk2 (6rd). Must be concealed in a waistband or ankle holster.

Urban Patrol Rifles (UPR)

• Authorization: Usage requires Supervisor Permission. Standard usage is restricted to Senior Security Guard and above.

• CIT Exception: Cash In Transit units may utilize UPRs with on-duty Supervisor approval.

• Authorized Platforms (30rd Mag): Military Carbine, Carbine Rifle (Std/Mk2), Combat Rifle (AR15), Service Carbine (M16/M4), H&L Navy, SMG, VF Tactical, VF Heavy.

• Attachments: Grip, Flashlight, and Scopes (Small, Large, or Holographic).

Shotguns

• Standard Attachments: Flashlight only.

• Platforms: Tactical, Sporty, Pump (Wood/Steel), Military (5rd), Combat (6rd).

103.2: Less-Lethal Hardware

• Stun Gun: Tint must match specific Agency branding.

• Beanbag Shotgun: Must utilize the Orange livery for identification.

• 40mm Launcher: Must utilize the Black livery.

Standard Uniformed Personnel:

• Baton: Extendable or Nightstick. Finishes permitted: Black, Blue, or Platinum.

• Restraints: Minimum of two (2) pairs of standard steel handcuffs.

• Communication: Department-issued radio.

• Chemical Agent: Standard Pepperspray.

• Holster: Professional Duty Holster.

• Illumination: Flashlight (Pocket-sized) with White, Red, or UV capability.

• Edged Weapon (Optional): Knife with a blade length no longer than 4 inches.

• Special Situations: Disposable plastic handcuffs as required.

Plainclothes / Internal Affairs Personnel:

• Identification: Official Department ID.

• Equipment: Authorized Firearm, Ammunition, Handcuffs with Key, and Pen/Pencil.

• Optional: Flashlight and Extendable Baton.

All patrol vehicles must be stocked with the following emergency equipment:

• Medical/Safety: First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, PPE (Gloves, Mask, Goggles).

• Tactical: External Armor (per Agency Standards), Urban Patrol Rifle (if authorized), Shotgun/Beanbag (Optional).

• Traffic Control: Traffic Cones, "Go Bag" (Personal items).

• LSIAPD Exclusive: Citation Book and Police Tape.
